Time to fly…

Today, I finally did the fucking thing…

… took a leap through a door I first opened in January 2024. More on that below, but first a few words to honor how massively difficult this first step has been for me to take:

“I’ve never studied to become a writer.”

“I can barely absorb more than every tenth word of any book I pick up.”

“My words aren’t worth reading.”

Those are two truths and one lie I’ve used to hold myself back from what the universe has been screaming in my face for several years now - that my path forward, and my soul’s full expression in this lifetime, will come as a writer.

Why have I allowed those negative self-statements to govern me into inaction?

Because it’s a big, scary leap! I know what’s on this side, and I’ve felt safer hiding here.

The other side is rife with unknowns. I’m a 51-year-old single dad with two young children to provide for. “What if I FAIL?!!” This isn’t a bikepacking race. There are actual consequences that affect more than myself, and this existence seems to grow less forgiving by the minute.

Yet here I am at the precipice with no excuses left to stand on, flailing against a huge bottleneck of energy, creativity, and opportunity, driving me towards the edge.

Going forward, I’ll be sharing most of my words through an emailed newsletter attached to my website, mofogo.org (short for MOVE | FORWARD | GO). It’s been called that since I set it up four years ago. That’s how long I’ve stood here failing to practice what I preach.

Some of you signed up for that newsletter two and a half years ago when I first announced it. Thank you!!! I’m sorry I didn’t follow through then. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had a big old FIRE to walk through first. If you’d like to know a bit more about that part of my journey, you can read about it here.

My website is free for my readers and unpolluted by the dehumanizing machines of social media and artificial intelligence. I’m going to build a community there.

If you'd like to support me, please "subscribe" and share.

Thank you for reading.

And to those of you who have been waiting for this… thank you for your patience.
